It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our friend and ally Diane Saint-Pierre, a committed Francophone, a leading advocate of French-language services and a dedicated volunteer. Diane passed away on February 14 at her home in Toronto.
Throughout her life, Diane was a passionate champion of the French language, working tirelessly to ensure its accessibility and preservation. Her efforts greatly enriched our community, leaving a lasting legacy that will be cherished by generations to come.
She has generously shared her time and expertise with numerous non-profit organizations, always approaching her work with enthusiasm, professionalism and a genuine desire to make a difference. Her contributions have had a profound impact on countless lives.
Diane joined CAH (Centres d’Accueil Héritage) in 2005, during which time she was secretary of meetings. Diane also served as Chair of the CAH Board of Directors from 2006 to 2009, and again from 2010 to 2012 inclusive.
She also presided over the organization of the main fundraising event, the famous Gilles-Barbeau Golf Tournament for CAH, from 2011 to 2017, and contributed to the achievements of numerous CAH working committees. Her leadership and commitment will be greatly missed, as will her kindness, wisdom and infectious spirit. Diane was not only a champion of the French language, but also a valued friend, mentor and confidante.
She leaves behind her mother Anne-Marie Lévêque, and her brothers and sisters who still reside in Rimouski. Our thoughts are with her family, friends and all those who had the privilege of knowing her and working with her. We send you our sincere condolences.
Please note that at this time we do not have any information regarding Diane’s funeral and/or celebration of life. We will share this information on CAH’s social media channels.
