A Word of The Management

Hello everyone!

We’re delighted to present the summer edition of our Gazette, accompanied by a PROGRAM of activities spanning THREE MONTHS, designed to help you make the most of the beautiful season. In keeping with our tradition, we offer a light, friendly and refreshing program, ideal for this period of relaxation… and heat!

On June 25, 2024, our 47th Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held at Collège Boréal. We’d like to extend our warmest thanks to all those who attended, including over thirty voting members, including CVA members.

is high point in CAH’s associative life provided an opportunity for accountability, constructive exchanges and a collective celebration of the efforts made to promote the well-being of French-speaking seniors. The presentations were clear, inspiring and reassuring, highlighting the highlights of the past year and the richness of our service offering. CAH is well positioned, and the work continues!

The Board of Directors welcomed four new members and, at the close of the AGM, elected the 2025-2026 Executive Committee. Full details will soon be available on our website: www.caheritage.org.

For the Centre de Vie Active (CVA), the analysis of our impact report highlights several challenges to be met in order to strengthen our outreach and better meet expectations: a low proportion of members from outside Place Saint-Laurent (22%) underlines the importance of extending our reach beyond our main site. A 13% dissatisfaction rate reveals the need to adapt our offer to emerging needs.

In response, we have defined a number of operational objectives: developing new partnerships, diversifying the activities on offer, strengthening community mobilization, and relaunching a volunteer program.

These orientations will guide our future actions, with the ambition of building a CVA that is ever more inclusive, dynamic and connected to its community.

Furthermore, 2025 marks a historic moment for our community: the 50th anniversary of the Franco-Ontarian flag. A powerful symbol of our collective identity, the flag embodies five decades of Francophone struggle, solidarity and pride. Commemorative activities will take place across the province, and the CVA will be an active participant. A special activity will be offered as part of our programming – full details in this Gazette.

Finally, with high temperatures in the forecast, remember to look out for cooling areas at CAH (such as the dining room or library), as well as in air-conditioned public places near you (libraries, community centers, etc.).

And why not come and take advantage of our shaded terrace, which has regained its shade sails?

We look forward to seeing you
